Terms and Conditions
Unless otherwise stated, course fees do not include scuba-quality equipment, travel expenses, accommodations, meals, park entrance fees, or eLearning materials.
Equipment
Scuba-Quality Equipment
For the safety of all students and staff, scuba-quality equipment is required for all classes. Snorkeling-rated equipment (e.g., masks and fins) is not permitted. If you have questions about the quality or condition of your gear, we are happy to evaluate its suitability at no additional cost.
Included Equipment
- Discover Scuba & Open Water Certification Training: Use of a BCD, regulator, dive computer, compass, tanks, and weights is included at no additional cost.
- Recreational-Level Classes: Tanks and weights are included at no additional cost.
Additional Equipment Requirements
Courses beyond Open Water Certification (e.g., Advanced or Specialty classes) may require personal gear such as an SMB and spool, dive light, or compass. Rental equipment is available for an additional fee (pricing varies by item). Rental fees may be applied toward the purchase of the same or similar equipment within 14 days.
Withdrawals & Cancellations
Scuba Shack Divers, LLC will make reasonable accommodations for unforeseen circumstances such as illness or family emergencies.
Withdrawal Requests
- More than 1 week before class start: 25% of course tuition (maximum $100)
- Between 1 week and 48 hours before class start: 50% of course tuition (maximum $200)
- Less than 48 hours before class start: Non-refundable
Future enrollment will require full tuition.
Reschedule Requests
- More than 1 week before class start: No charge
- Less than 1 week before class start: 15% rescheduling fee
Materials Policy
Digital and educational materials are non-refundable. This includes eLearning, crew packs, logbooks, manuals, and similar items.
Class Requirements
Open Water Certification Dives
Open Water certification dives are sold separately from class tuition and eLearning. These dives must be completed within one year of eLearning registration.
If more than 3 months pass between classroom/confined water training and the start of Open Water dives, a refresher pool session is required ($125). Terms and conditions apply.
Medical Questionnaire
Per industry standards, students must complete an RSTC Medical Questionnaire before participating in any in-water training or dives and a doctor signature if the form questions deem it is required.
Note: All Technical and Professional Level training require the RSTC Medical Questionnare to be signed by a doctor.
Failure to submit a completed questionnaire before the start of in-water sessions will result in disenrollment. Students will need to re-enroll in a future class and will be subject to the withdrawal and rescheduling policies above.
Additional Training Sessions
Students who complete coursework but do not meet course requirements during scheduled sessions may book additional personalized training:
- $150 per session
- Sessions continue until either:
(A) course objectives are met, or
(B) the student voluntarily withdraws
If a pool session is required, scheduling will be based on regular pool availability. If unavailable, an additional pool rental fee may apply.
Missed Sessions & Late Arrivals
Late arrivals or missed classes/pool sessions may require make-up sessions:
- $150 per session
- Additional pool rental fees may apply
Pool Rental Fee: Up to $200 per session
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued after the start of the class.
